Job Description

JOB DISCRIPTION

Provide management of the Flight Support Officers through knowledge of functions of the FOS and GOL service. This includes dealings with base and squadron commanders to ensure that their directives are followed by the Ground and Crew Services team. Setting up the procedures to provide services our clients effectively and efficiently.

Preference to UAEN for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and embed a culture of customer focus and performance management to ensure high quality and continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Ensure regular and effective communication between other Business Unit(s).
  • Ensure that the organisation’s approach to data protection, security and retention complies with best practice and that policies and procedures are effectively implemented.
  • Manage and be accountable for the Ground Ops and Crew Services Operations.   
  • Responsible for all Ground Ops and Crew Services team in addressing their work/personal related issues.
  • Resolve any operational and/or personal issues.
  • Ensure that the  Ground Ops and Crew Services team update all sets of Jeppesen Worldwide Paper Charts and en route Charts on a timely basis and confirm that all deployed Manuals and Charts are up to date.
  • Responsible in preparing the Ground Ops and Crew Services roster adhering to company policy regarding scheduling, approving and managing leave requests.
  • Responsible for the NDB’s (Navigation Data Base) downloading, using different medias, from different avionic companies for the AFAD fleet.
  • Ensure FOS personnel update and distribute IPADs according to the local standards and procedures in place.
  • Responsible for resolving issues of the avionics companies’ products.
  • Responsible in contacting avionics companies from all over the world to address issues that arise from NDB downloading.
  • Control monthly catering costs on each aircraft so that it does not exceed the assigned budget. Apply suitable measures to ensure cost-savings without any undesirable impact on the service on-board.
  • Monitor & maintain a database of menus and pricing from all destinations, so that required catering is planned according to the provided menu/ pricing.
  • Monitor approve Catering Agents and update AIMS regularly with relevant details to ensure correct database of catering agents.

Skills

  • Minimum 7 years aviation experience and/or Flight Support experience
  • Previous civilian and/or military status and knowledge of air base operations standards applied to the military air-bases on a day to day basis
  • ATC experience would be an asset
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation or related field.
  • Document management with knowledge of Aeronautical publications, ATA system and Operations documentation such AFM, Pilots checklist, FCOM, QRH etc.
  • Operations Technical Library and publications experience.
  • Degree or Diploma in aviation related courses, training in publication and related software.
  • Excellent IT skills and proficient use of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Specialist in document management.
  • Familiar with Electronic Flight Bag.
  • Familiar with Navigation and Terrain databases.
  • Preferably requires a former or current military air force experience in a similar environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills with a passion for developing others
  • Strong communication skills in both written and oral
