Senior Operations Control Specialist

Manage, monitor and control Royal Jets daily interface between Sales Support, Flight Operations and Supporting Departments to ensure safe and efficient service for our Clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing day-to-day administrative, functional, and technical direction to Operations Control
• Maintaining an awareness of developing operating constraints that may reasonably be expected to negatively impact upon the Royal Jet fleet, and for ensuring that the best corporate operating plan or solution is delivered in keeping with Royal Jet's customer service and fiscal requirements
• May hold a subordinate out of service for cause or administer such disciplinary action as may be necessary, subject to company policy and provisions of any labour agreement
• Resource planning and provision to ensure adequate staffing levels; The development, implementation and enforcement of operational control standards, policies and procedures pertaining to the Operations Control function, in keeping with all Safety, UAE GCAA, Corporate and Operations Co-ordination requirements
• Providing flight operational support through Dispatch services including, but not limited to, flight planning, flight watch, weather briefing, and communications as required by the applicable sections of the Royal Jet Flight Operations Manual (OM)
• Ensuring that all Operations Control personnel are provided with adequate training, checking and route familiarization suitable to the position being held within Royal Jet Operations Control
• When assigned by DFO, to act as designated Dispatch Trainer in accordance with Operations Control Dispatch Manual
• Observe that Shift Handover log is complete and has been fully read and understood of daily, weekly, or monthly tasks; carry on to follow-up significant issues that require attention (as per handover)
• Ensure Optimal flight plans are generated to minimize the fuel consumption. 
• Monitor flight path to insure safe avoidance to bad weather & dangerous areas if any.
• Monitor aircraft destinations weather forecasts to avoid last minutes changes which could impact negatively on client’s impressions.
• Randomly checks dispatcher/pilot flight briefing to evaluate dispatcher performance & to make sure pilots receive all necessary information.
• Insure discipline and smooth workflow among OCC staff on duty.
• Communicate with post holders & senior managements for issues during a flight which may require approval.

• Minimum 5 years Aviation industry experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years of managerial experience in the Operations Control Centre with strong focus on procedural compliance, safety practices and continuous improvement processes
• University Degree in Aviation (Dispatch Course)
• Ability to drive performance through utilisation of performance management process aligning SMART objectives and reviewing performance with detailed plans to deliver objectives.
• Comfortable in using the Related Aviation software’s and systems ex AIMS, Flight Planner
• In-depth knowledge of all airline contractual requirements.
• Zero tolerance approach to health & safety non-compliance.
• Relevant trainings preferred
• Strong planning, organizing, and integration skills
• Strong knowledge in the development and implementation of policies & procedures
